Led by voice artist and BAFTA member Jess Nesling (Battlefield 6; Baldur's Gate III, Warhammer 40K: Darktide, Star Wars: Hunters, Diablo Immortal, Arknights: Endfield and more!) you will be given tips, tricks and direction to elevate your performance and help you voice characters that make an impact. Group sizes are kept small to maximise performance time.

For this session we will have special guest Keith Higinbotham joining!

Keith is a dialect and voice coach (The Wheel of Time - ADR Season 2; Feed Me), voice actor (Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2) and voice director (Baldur’s Gate III; Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes) - the vocal trilogy we ALL want. We are thrilled that he’ll be giving advice on accents and vocal safety, as well as feedback on your performances in the workshop.

When & Where?

The Bare Arms HQ, Westminster, London

Tuesday 26th May, 18:00 - 21:30

This session is intended for experienced actors who want to further develop their voice over skills for video games.

Finances should never be a barrier to learning. For every TVF workshop there will be two ‘Pay What You Can’ (PWYC) spaces available on a first come, first served basis. Please message us on Instagram (@thevocalfold.uk) to organise a discount code. Say what you can pay, no further questions asked, we'll get you booked in.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • A water bottle, something to take notes on, snacks if you want them. There is a tea/coffee station in the room.
The space can get a little chilly so I’d advise bringing an extra layer, just in case.

  • We'll do a physical and vocal warm up before we get started, so make sure your clothes allow for a bit of stretching. As you’d have to consider when working in a studio, be mindful of noisy clothing! Jangly buttons/zips will be picked up on the mic. It's not a biggie if you forget, but it's good to get into the habit.

  • Closest stations: Pimlico, Victoria and St James's Park.

The Bare Arms HQ is at the back of London Scottish House - we'll be entering via Elverton Street which has step-free access to the space, but please note there is a steep ramp. More info will be sent to participants.

  • Not at all! This course is more advanced and aimed at professional performers, but you don't need to have worked previously in voiceover to join us.

  • Getting to the room is step-free, although there is a steep ramp down to the studio and a small lip to get into the room.

The toilets are in the main building. There is a lift to provide step-free access to the back door, and a further internal lift to reach the toilets on the ground floor. Please message me directly if you have any queries regarding this.
